(4)Maternity leave may be granted in cases of miscarriage including abortion subject to the condition that the leave shall be limited to the period recommended by the appropriate medical authority subject to a maximum of forty five days during the entire service.Note. - An abortion induced under the Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 shall also be considered a case of 'abortion' for the purpose of this rule.]
