955. Complete kit for sergeants, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, head constables, naiks, constables, launch crews and boatmen. [§ 12, Act V, 1861].
(a)A list of the articles comprising the complete kit of Sergeants, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, head constables, naiks, constables, launch crews and boatmen is given in Appendix LV.(b)Serviceable clothing shall not be issued with a first kit but serviceable equipment may be.(c)All clothing issued under this regulation is the property of the Crown but the kit supplied to a Sergeant shall be regarded as his property so long as he remains in service.Note. - Naiks shall wear the same uniform as constables, with a chevron of two bars.
