Section 56 in The Maharashtra Agricultural Produce Marketing (Regulation) Act, 1963
56. Trial of offences.
(1)No offence under this Act, or any rule or bye-law made there under shall be tried by a Court other than that of a Presidency Magistrate or a Magistrate of the First Class or a Magistrate of the Second Class specially empowered in this behalf.(2)No prosecution under this Act shall be instituted except by the Director or any officer authorised by him in that behalf or by the Secretary or any other person duly authorised by the Market Committee in that behalf.(3)No Court shall take cognizance of any offence under this Act or any rule or order made there under, unless complaint thereof is made within six months from the date on which the alleged commission of the offence came to the knowledge of the officer or person referred to in sub-section (2).
