19. Impressment for hire otherwise than for active service.
(1)The [Central Government] [Substituted for the words 'Local Government' by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937.] may make rules to provide for the impressment for hire for purposes of military transport within India, on occasions other than those specified in section 7, of any animal or thing liable to impressment under this Act, and for the terms and conditions of such impressment.(2)Any animal or thing liable to impressment under this Act may be impressed for hire in accordance with such rules.
