(v)To make, conduct and maintain all such cuts, channels, catch waters, tunnels, culverts, drains, sluices, water channels, gauges, filter beds, tanks, banks, wells, bridges, machinery and appliances, as may be necessary or convenient in connection with or subsidiary to any of the water works.
