11.09.2024 Mr. Vishal Sharma, learned DSGI, submits that the issues raised in the present PIL are already under consideration before the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 793/2017, titled "Mohammad Salimullah and Anr Vs. Union of India and Ors", and as such, this PIL is not maintainable.
In view of the fact that the issues raised in this PIL are similar to those in the writ petition pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court, this Court deems it appropriate to close the present proceedings, leaving the matter to be adjudicated by Hon'ble Supreme Court.
In light of the above, this PIL is closed.
