(5)(i)Where any proceedings or resolution of the Board or order of the Vice-Chancellor is inconsistent with the provisions of this Act and the Statutes made thereunder, it shall be the duty of the Registrar to tender advice to the Board or the Vice-Chancellor mentioning the relevant provisions and record in the proceedings to the meeting of the Board or on the order of the Vice-Chancellor the fact that he or she had tendered such advice and thereupon put up a note of dissent on such proceedings, resolution, the order or as the case may be, and ensure the communication of the matter to the Chancellor or any officer authorized by him or her in this behalf within seven days of passing such resolution or order, or as the case may be, undertaking such proceedings.(ii)After examining the note of dissent reported under sub-clause (i), the Chancellor or the officer authorized in this behalf by him or her, may make such interim or final order as he or she thinks fit, which shall be binding on the University:Provided that if no such interim or final order is passed within a period of thirty days from the date of receipt of the dissent note, the Board or, as the case may be, Vice-Chancellor may proceed with the proceedings or the resolution or, as the case may be, the order as if the dissent note was not put up.
