Section 84(1) in The Calcutta Hackney-Carriage Act, 1919
(1)Whenever this Act is extended to any other town or local area outside Calcutta under clause (a) of section 2, the [State Government] [Words substituted by the Government of India (Adaptation of Indian Laws) Order, 1937 and the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] may, by notification, appoint persons, or local authorities, to exercise and perform in such town or area the same powers and duties as are conferred or imposed by this Act on the Corporation of Calcutta and the Commissioner of Police, respectively.
