Section 44(1) in The Mineral Conservation And Development Rules, 1988
(1)It shall be the duty of the mining engineer to take all necessary steps to plan and the conduct mining operations, so as to ensure conservation of minerals, systematic development of the mineral deposits and protection of environment in and around the mining lease area in accordance with these rules.
