Section 276 in The Chhattisgarh Municipalities Act, 1961
276. Reporting of births and deaths.
(1)It shall be the duty of the father or of the mother of every child born within the limits of any Municipality or in the case of death, absence or disability of the father or mother, the head of the family in which the child is born, or the occupier of the house or any person assisting at the time of birth of such child to give information within 8 days of such birth either in person or in writing to the Chief Municipal Officer with such particulars as are required for the registration of the birth of such child.(2)It shall be the duty of the head of the family in which death has occurred or the occupier of the house or any neighbour to give information within 8 days of such death either in person or in writing to the Chief Municipal Officer, with such particulars as are required for the registration of the death.
