Section 152 in The Indian Post Office Rules, 1933

152.

Foreign sterling money orders received for payment in India shall be paid as if they were inland money orders, the amount in sterling of the original money order being converted into rupee currency by the Indian Post office of exchange (at Bombay or Madras, as the case may be) at such rate of exchange as the Director General may, from time to time, direct.
