187. Alteration in motor vehicle.
(1)In addition to the requirements of the provisions of section 52 of the Act, the owner of a transport vehicle, or if the owner is not the holder of the permit, the holder of the permit shall, at the same time as the report required by that section is made to the registering authority, forward a copy thereof to the Transport Authority by which the permit relating to the vehicle was granted, or, in the case of a permit relating to a service of Stage Carriages, to the Transport Authority by which the permit was granted under which the vehicle is being used.(2)Upon receipt of a report under sub-rule (1), the Transport Authority by which the permit was issued may, if the alteration is such as to contravene any of the provisions or conditions of the permit-(i)vary the permit accordingly, or(ii)require the permit holder to provide a substitute vehicle within such period as the authority may specify and if the holder fails to comply with such requirement, cancel or suspend the permit.(3)A Transport Authority varying, suspending or cancelling a permit or causing another vehicle to be substituted for a vehicle covered by a permit, shall intimate particulars to the Transport Authority of any other region in which the permit is valid by reason of the counter-signature or otherwise.
