- The Inspector-General shall, with the previous sanction of the State Government, fix the scale of clothing and bedding and other necessaries of equipment, to be provided in respect of each class of prisoners, and may, with the like sanction, from time to time -(a)vary the scale of clothing and bedding generally, or that prescribed in respect of prisoner of any class,(b)prescribe a special scale in respect of the prisoners confined in any jail, or in the jail situate within any specified local area,(c)prescribe a special scale in respect of any period or periods of time or during any season of the year, and(d)vary the shape, size, material or quality of any article prescribed in any scale o clothing or bedding.
