79. Powers of Gram Panchayat regarding public health facilities and safety.
- Subject to such rules as may be made by the State Government in this behalf, a Gram Panchayat shall have powers -(1)to maintain sources of sanitation, cleanliness, water emission, water transition, water supply;(2)to regulate uses of water;(3)to ensure environmental control;(4)to remove structures and trees;(5)to regulate trade of nasty or dangerous things;(6)to regulate establishment of workshops, factories and other industrial units;(7)to perform such functions as is necessary by or under the provisions of this Act.
