Taking on pledge or purchasing articles from child. - Whoever takes an article on pledge from a child, whether offered by that child on his own behalf or on behalf of any person shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with both.
