SHRIMATI PRATYUSHA RAJESHWARI SINGH (KANDHAMAL): Drought is a slow and crippling disaster and its effect is likely to be felt by the people for a considerable long period of time. The primary loss is that of agriculture. Acute shortage of water has brought many associated problems including shortage of drinking water, food shortage, malnutrition and health hazard for both human and animals in my Parliamentary constituency of Kandhamal consisting of Nayagarh, Boudh, Ganjam and Kandhamal districts of Odisha.
I request the Union Government to mitigate the situation and provide adequate financial assistance to the farmers by taking up relief and rehabilitation measures.
