Section 21 in The Maharashtra Specified Co-operative Societies Elections to Committees Rules, 1971
21. Deposits.
- A candidate shall not be deemed to be duly nominated for election from a constituency unless he deposits or causes to be deposited with the Returning Officer a sum of rupees fifty in cash and where the candidate is member of scheduled castes or scheduled tribes or Vimukta Jatis or of a weaker section a sum of rupees five :Provided that, where a candidate has been nominated by more than one nomination paper for election in the same constituency, not more than one deposit shall be required of him under this rule.
