Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding the issues of pertaining to inter-state border disputes between Manipur- Nagaland and manipur-Assam.
*DR. R.K. RANJAN (INNER MANIPUR): Hon. Speaker Sir, with your kind permission. I would like to raise an important issue pertaining to inter-state border disputes. Sir, permit me to speak in Manipuri.
Since long there has been unsettled boundary issues along the border of Manipur-Nagaland and Manipur-Assam. The disputed areas are along the districts of Senapati, Ukhrul and Jiribam. Few controversial sites are namely Dzuku valley, Tung joy, Wahong, Jiri-river area etc; these disputes quite often trigger squabbling and enmity between the ethnic people settled in the around the disputed areas. And it affects the inter-state relation. Therefore, I urge upon the Union Government to kindly look into such sensitive matters and help the concern states in finding amicable solution.
Sir, through you I seek the indulgence of the Hon. Home Minister to settle the inter-state border disputes at the earliest.

(Shrimati Rama Devi in the chair) माननीय सभापति (श्रीमती रमा देवी): माननीय सदस्यगण, नियम 377 के अधीन मामलों को सभा पटल पर रखा जाएगा । जिन सदस्यों को नियम 377 के अधीन मामलों को आज उठाने की अनुमति दी गई है और जो उन्हें सभा पटल पर रखने के इच्छुक हैं, वे 20 मिनट के भीतर मामले के पाठ को व्यक्तिगत रूप से सभा पटल पर भेज दें । केवल उन्हीं मामलों को सभा पटल पर रखा माना जाएगा, जिनके लिए मामले का पाठ निर्धारित समय के भीतर सभा पटल पर प्राप्त होगा और शेष को व्यपगत माना जाएगा ।
