(1)An Anchalik Panchayat being coterminous to a Development Block shall have an executive officer Anchalik Panchayat appointed by Government who shall be the Ex-officio Secretary:Provided that the Block Development Officer or such other officer as may be appointed by Government shall hold the post of the Executive Officer and Secretary of the Anchalik Panchayat.
