SHRI K. PARASURAMAN (THANJAVUR): Hon. Chairman, Sir, I rise here to urge upon the Government for taking necessary action for speedy promulgation of an Ordinance providing exemption to the State of Tamil Nadu from the NEET for MBBS admission. Generally, in the State like Tamil Nadu, students are studying only the State Board syllabus up to higher secondary. But, the syllabus for the NEET is totally different from that of the State Board, which is conducted for medical and dental courses across the country. It would affect not only the students who are studying in the State Board but it is also a challenge for the State education system. Moreover, the rural students and students from poor socio-economic background will be unable to complete with urban elite.

SHRI K. PARASURAMAN : The rural students will be put to great disadvantage because they lack the resources to enroll in training institutions and access materials available to urban students.
