(3)No person employed in a shop shall be required or permitted to work in such shop of more than [five hours and a half] [Substituted for "the words six hours" by West Bengal shops and Establishments (AM) Act, 1988 (Act 23 of 1983)] in any one day, unless he has been allowed an interval for rest of at least one hour.
