The distillery and its apparatus shall be so arranged that from the time when the fermented wash is passed into a still to the time when the spirit is issued from the store vats, the distillate shall be contained in closed receptacles and be conveyed to stills, receivers and other receptacles only through closed pipes, preferably by force of gravitation, but when this cannot be arranged by pumping. Water required for the distillery working shall also be conveyed into the receptacles where it is required and waste water shall be carried off only through closed pipes.
