17. Constitution of the Executive council.

- [(1) The Executive Council shall comprise the following :-
(a)Vice-Chancellor, Technical University - Chairperson
(b) ProViceChancellor, Technical University, ifany - Member
(c) Director, Indian Institute of TechnologyRoorkee - Member
(d) ViceChancellor, GB Pant University ofAgriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Nainital - Member
(e) Principal Secretary/Secretary Department ofTechnical Education - Member
(f) Principal Secretary/Secretary, Department ofHigher Education - Member
(g) Principal Secretary/Secretary, Department ofMedical Education - Member
(h) Principal Secretary/Secretary, Department ofLaw - Member
(i) Principal Secretary/Secretary, Department ofFinance - Member
(j) Chairperson, All India Council of TechnicalEducation or his/her nominee - Member
(k) Two reputed Industrialists nominated by theChancellor on the recommendation of the State Government - Member
(l) Two reputed Technocrats nominated by theChancellor on the recommendation of the State Government - Member
(m) Two Principals of Colleges nominated by theState Government by rotation - Member
(n) Two Eminent Medical Experts, Two EminentEducationists and Two Eminent Legal Experts nominated by theChancellor on the recommendation of the State Government. - Member]

(2)Notwithstanding anything in subsection (1), no person shall be appointed as a member of the Executive Council unless he is a graduate.
(3)The term of office of members mentioned in clause (h), (i) and (j) shall be two years,
(4)A person shall be disqualified for being nominated as, and for being a member of the executive Council if he or his relative, accepts remuneration for any work in, or for, the University or any contract for the supply of goods to or for the execution of any work for the University.Explanation. - In this sub-section "relative" means the relations defined in section (6) of the companies Act, 1956 and includes the wife's (or husband's) brother, wife's (or husband's) father, wife's (or husband's sister), brother's son and brother's daughter.
