Section 7(1) in The New Delhi Municipal Council Act, 1994
(1)Every member before taking his seat shall make and subscribe at a meeting of the Council an oath or affirmation according to the following form, namely:-"I, A. B. having been nominated as a member of Council do swear in the name of God solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter."
