(2)The term of each Committee specified in sub-sections (1) and (2) of Section 87 shall be one year from the date of the first meeting of the Committee but in no case extend beyond the term of the Kshettra Panchayat.[89A. Constitution of Committees of Kshettra Panchayats notified by the State Government. - (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any other provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder, every Kshettra Panchayat shall, in place of all or any of the Committees referred to in Section 87, hereinafter in this section referred to as the erstwhile Committee, constitute such other Committee or Committees, as may be notified by the State Government for exercise and performance of all or any of the powers, functions or duties assigned to the erstwhile Committee under this Act and may also delegate to such Committee or Committees such of its other powers, functions or duties as it may deem fit and upon Constitution of a Committee under this section in place of an erstwhile Committee with respect to its any specified power, function or duty, the erstwhile Committee with respect to that power, function or duty shall stand abolished and any reference to the erstwhile Committee in any provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder shall be construed as a reference to the Committee constituted under this section.
