Sixteenth Loksabha an> Title: Need to set up a Central University in Rayalseema region and a Tribal University at Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh - Laid SHRI MUTHAMSETTI SRINIVASA RAO (AVANTHI) (ANAKAPALLI): Under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, the Government of India had promised to Andhra Pradesh new Central University as well as anew Tribal University. As the Government knows, the untimely bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh had deprived the State of many Central institutions oflearning and caused significant setback to the youth ofmy State. Setting up new institutions, as promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, will facilitate the progress and development of my new State.
Further, I wish to state that Vizianagaram district houses the highest population of Tribals in the State to the extent of 14.55%. Vizinagaram district is the most bacKward district in the State. Bysetting up the Tribal University atVizianagaram, it would provide anopportunity to the tribal youth for taking up education in a concerted way.
Similarly, Rayalaseema is also the most backward region in the State. Bysetting up a Central University inRayalaseema Region, it would boost education inthe region. At the same time, it would provide employment opportunities to the youth ofthat region. In June 2016, the then Hon’ble HRD Minister had promised to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh all help for these projects. I humbly request the NDA Government to fulfill these promises contained in the A.P. Reorganisation Act at the earliest.
The State Government of Andhra Pradesh iswilling to extend its whole-hearted support in this noble endeavour.
