Section 5(1) in The West Bengal Relief of Rural Indebtedness Act, 1975
(1)On receipt of an application under section 4, the authority, after giving an opportunity to the parties concerned to appear and be heard, shall determine in respect of the debt in question the amount of the principal and the amount of interest due thereon, up to the date of such determination.
