Section 12(vi) in The Statutes of the Punjabi University
(vi)The outside expert shall normally be a Professor or a person holding an equivalent position. However, in the case of such subjects where Professors are not available or their number is very small Readers or persons holding an equivalent position could also be included in the panel of external experts for positions below the rank of Reader.
