SHRI THOTA NARASIMHAM (KAKINADA): Mr. Deputy Speaker, I would like to bring to the notice of the Government that Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited is situated in my constituency, Kakinada in the State of Andhra Pradesh. It is facing problems due to the New Urea Policy. In my constituency, business units are facing a serious problem due to the New Urea Policy. The discriminatory policy gives undue benefits by disbursing subsidy to new units, but it does not extend the same benefits to old units. The fixed cost policy is not allowing any escalation for the next 15 years which will severely affect the pricing of the final product in future. I would also like to point out that the Direct Benefit Subsidy in this regard has not been clearly defined and Stock and Working Capital issues have also not been addressed in this policy.
So, I request the Government to take note of these issues and take immediate steps to resolve these problems.
