Section 66 in Alagappa University Act, 1985

66. Power to remove difficulties.

(1)If any difficulty arises as to the first constitution or reconstitution of any authority of the University after the notified date or otherwise in giving effect to the provisions of this Act, the Government may, by notification, make such provision, not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act as may appear to them to be necessary or expedient for removing the difficulty:Provided that no such notification shall be issued after the expiry of five years from the date of establishment of the University under section 3.
(2)Every notification issued under sub-section (1) or under any other provisions of this Act shall, as soon as possible after it is issued, be placed on the table of [the Legislative Assembly] [Substituted for 'both Houses of the Legislature' by the Tamil Nadu Adaptation of Laws Order, 1987.] and if before the expiry of the session in which it is so placed or the next session, the Legislative Assembly agrees in making any modification in any such notification or the Legislative Assembly agrees] that the notification should not be issued, the notification shall thereafter have effect only in such modified from or be of no effect, as the case may be, so, however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that notification.[Schedule - I] [Substituted by Tamil Nadu Act 35 of 2002.][See section 2(b)]
