Section 35(1) in The Merchant Shipping (Fire Appliances) Rules, 1969
(1)Fire hoses provided in compliance with these rules shall be suitable for the intended use and shall not exceed 20 metres in length and shall be made in leather, seamless hemp, closely woven flax canvas or any other suitable material and shall be provided with couplings, conductors and other necessary equipment and also with suitable nozzles.
