Section 849(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)As soon as an officer has submitted a medical certificate of incapacity for further service in accordance with article 442, Civil Service Regulations, steps shall be taken to verify his service as laid down in regulation 848 above, and his formal application for pension shall be submitted with the least possible delay.
