Section 57(2) in The West Bengal Factories Rules, 1958
(2)No [worker] [Substituted by Notification No. 340 L.W./L.W./IR-4/85 dated 2nd April 1986.] shall be engaged, in conjunction with others, in lifting, carrying or moving by hand or on head, any material, article, tool or appliance, if the weight thereof exceeds the lowest weight fixed by the Schedule to sub-rule (1) for any of the person engaged, multiplied by the number of the persons engaged;[Provided that in case of transport of round articles by rolling on the floor or transport of articles by means of hand operated wheeled vehicles the maximum weights specified in the Schedule may be increased by fifty per cent in each case for the purposes of sub-rules (1) and (2).] [Vide Notification No. 1008 L.W., dated 20th August 1964.]
