Section 1 in The Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Employees Life Insurance) Act, 1980
1. Short title, extent, commencement and application.
(1)This Act may be called the Gujarat Shops and Establishments (Employees Life Insurance) Act, 1980.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Gujarat(3)It shall come into force on such date, as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.(4)It shall apply in the first instance to all the establishments mentioned in the Schedule.(5)The State Government may, after giving by a notification in the Official Gazette, not less than three month's notice of its intention so to do may by a like notification, add to the Schedule any establishment or a class of establishments in respect of which it is of the opinion that this Act should apply and thereupon the Schedule shall be deemed to be amended accordingly.
