39. Act not to apply to certain works of building construction intended for residence if the Government declares to that effect.
- Subject to such restrictions and conditions as may be prescribed, the Government may, by notification, declare that nothing contained in this Act shall apply to any work of building construction carried on by any person for the purpose of his residence or for the residence of the members of his family.Explanation. - For the purposes of this section "family" means the person and his wife or husband and the children of the person who carries on such building construction.
