Section 42(3) in Assam Co-Operative Societies Act, 2007
(3)Any casual vacancy in the office of the Director shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the bye-laws and the Director so elected shall hold office for the unexpired term of his predecessor :Provided that the Board may fill a casual vacancy of a member of the Board by nomination out of the same class of members in respect of which the casual vacancy has arisen, if the remaining term of the Board is less than half of the original term.
