ORDER:
This Writ Petition is being disposed of at the admission stage with the consent of learned counsel for both the parties.
This Writ Petition is filed seeking the following substantive relief:
"... to issue an appropriate writ more particularly one in the nature of Mandamus declaring the inaction of the 1st respondent in considering the representation of the petitioner dated 14/12/2020 for nomination to the office of the 2nd respondent board U/s 5(1)(f) of the Salar Jung Museum Act, 1961, as arbitrary, unreasonable and illegal and consequently, to direct the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 14/12/2020 and to nominate to the 2nd respondent board U/s 5(1)(f) of the Salar Jung Museum Act, 1961 ."
Heard Sri Vedula Srininvas, learned counsel representing Smt Vedula Chitralekha, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Solicitor General appearing for the respondents.
It has been contended by petitioner that he is a legal heir of Nawab Salar Jung-III and Salar Jung museum is being run by Salar Jung Museum Board and as per Section 5(1)(f) of the Salar Jung Act, 1961, a family member of Nawab Salar Jung-III has to be inducted in the said Board. He further contended that being a legal heir of Nawab Salar Jung-III, he has requested the respondents to induct him into the Salar Jung Board by submitting a detailed representation on 2 14.12.2020, but so far the respondents have not passed any orders on the said representation.
Learned counsel for the petitioner contended that appropriate orders be passed in this Writ Petition directing the respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner on 14.12.2020 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.
Learned Assistant Solicitor General appearing for the respondents contended that since the petitioner's representation is pending with the respondents, the respondents would consider the same and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law.
This Court, having considered the submissions made by learned counsel for both the parties, is of the considered view that the Writ Petition can be disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner on 14.12.2020 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a reasonable period of time, preferably within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
