Regarding Non-Payment Of Salaries To Temporary Employees In Kerala-Laid. on 3 February, 2022
Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Regarding non-payment of salaries to temporary employees in Kerala-laid.
KUMARI RAMYA HARIDAS (ALATHUR): I would like to draw the attention of the Government towards a serious issue concerning tribals at Parambikulam Tribal Colony in my Alathur Parliamentary Constituency, Kerala. There are 1115 Tribal temporary employees working under the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve and living on the wages from the Plan fund. But, Since January 2021, they have not been paid their wages. It is learnt that reason for non-payment of salary is that the National Tiger Consideration Authority has not approved their Annual Plan of Operation.
Further, there are 105 temporary tribal employees working in connection with the Tourism activities under the Parambikulam Forest Development Agency. They have been assigned works pertaining to tourism. But the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve has been closed due to Covid pandemic and revenue from Tourism has stagnated. Temporary employees who have been working in connection with the tourism related purposes have not been paid during the Covid Pandemic.
So I humbly request the Government to save them from starvation.
