Section 64(1) in The Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976
(1)Where the title of an occupier of any land who is not holder thereof, is such that it will lapse on or before the expiry of the agricultural year next following the date of an irrigation agreement applicable to such land, the consent of the holder to such agreement shall be binding on such occupier in respect of such land.
