8. The Rector.
- There shall be a Rector who shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor in such manner and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the statutes from among senior professors. He shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be prescribed by the statutes.
