Section 11 in Punjab Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads Act, 1961
11. Resignation of Members.-
(1)A Member may resign his office by notifying, in writing, his intention to do so to the Chairman of the Panchayat Samiti or the Deputy Commissioner:Provided that where the notice of resignation is not delivered personally to the Chairman or the Deputy Commissioner, the Chairman or the Deputy Commissioner, as the case may be, shall obtain confirmation from the person concerned as to its genuineness.(2)A resignation confirmed as aforesaid or delivered personally shall take effect on and from the date on which the notice was received.
