PROF. RICHARD HAY (NOMINATED): Hon. Deputy-Speaker, Sir, I would like to raise an important matter regarding lack of security of security of women. Women being most vulnerable to anti-social elements are being attacked, raped and hence face insecurity everywhere. Even in the State of Kerala, a 100 per cent literate State, women are not safe as witnessed in the recent gory incidents which brought shame to the State. Even in the State of Kerala, women traveling in vehicles are not safe.
I would like to urge upon the Government of India to investigate the recent attacks on women in the State of Kerala and give appropriate direction and take action to protect women.
