Section 144(1) in The West Bengal Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989
(1)No replacement of the vehicle(s) shall be allowed in respect of a vehicle plying on a temporary permit and the permit shall be' liable to cancellation should the vehicle(s) entered in the permit cease(s) to be in operation for any reason whatsoever notwithstanding anything as contained in rule 142.
