Section 1042(1)(i) in Rules under the United Provinces Excise Act, 1910

(i)Assistant Excise Commissioner. - "Assistant Excise Commissioner" means the officer appointed by the State Government under Section 10 (2) (d) of the Excise Act, designated as such and exercising jurisdiction in the area.
