(1)This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass Book Act, 1983.(2)It extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu.(3)It shall come into force on such date as the Government may by notification, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different areas and for different provision of this Act.Notes. - Except sections 5,9,15 and 73 came into force on the 1st day of April 1993. Sections 5, 9 and 15 came into force on the 1st day of March 1996.
