1. Short title. - This Act may be called the Court of Wards Act, 1879.
Extent. - [it extends to the [States] of West Bengal, Bihar and Assam and that part of the [State] of Orissa which on the 30th day of July, 1879, was subject to the Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal.][xxx]
