Section 33(5) in Faridabad Complex Administration Building Rules, 1989
(5)Treads and risers of each flight of a staircase or of several flights in the same staircase in any building shall be of uniform width and height. The maximum number of steps in a flight shall be 14. Winders shall be allowed in residential building provided they are not at the head of downward flight. In every staircase at least one hand rail shall be provided. Where are provided from the ground to the building hand, rail may not be provided if the steps do not go above 1.5 metres in height and are not less than 1 metre in width.
