Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India,
praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second
respondent to treat the degree of Bachelor of Computer Application as
adequate qualification viz,. Degree in Science, for the purpose of
submitting application for recruitment for the post of Sub-Inspector of
Police (Finger Print) 2018 vide Advertisement No.2/2018, dated
29.08.2018 and consequently make provision for enabling the
petitioner to submit his application online as Degree Holder of Bachelor
of Computer Application within a period specified by this Court.

ORDER
When this writ petition came up before this Court on 06.12.2018, this Court passed an order permitting the petitioner to write the written examination subject to the result of the writ petition. The result of the examination was also directed to be withheld pending determination of the issue by this Court in this writ petition.
2.Today, when this writ petition was taken up, the learned Additional Advocate General appearing for the respondents produced a copy of the communication of the Registrar, University of Madras, dated 20.11.2018 addressed to the Member Secretary of the second respondent Board, in which the list of Bachelor of Science Degree Programmes have been attached and in Sl.No.26 of the list, the degree of Bachelor of Computer Applications has been included.
3.In view of the above, the prayer of the petitioner has to be considered. Hence, the writ petition is allowed. The examination results of the petitioner shall be published forthwith and further http://www.judis.nic.in 3 proceedings by the respondents shall go on. No costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petitions are also closed.
