50. Countermanding of the Poll.
- If any candidate out of the list of the candidates contesting the election under Rule 43 dies and information of his/her death is received by the Returning Officer before the commencement of the poll and on being satisfied by the fact of the death of the candidate, the Returning Officer shall countermand the poll and report the fact to the Commission through the District Election Officer. Proceedings with reference to the election shall be commenced a fresh after receiving the direction from the Commission.
