Section 2(k) in Assam Panchayat (Constitution) Rules, 1995
(k)"Public holiday" means any day which is a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 (Act XXN of 1881) or any day which has been notified by the State Government to be a holiday for the Government Offices in the State of Assam;
